The Wedding Brunch

We had a great wedding brunch at the Cork Tasting Room, beginning with champagne and followed by some fantastic appetisers and a breakfast for champions!  Kristen, the chef, and her team did a really great job.  We were joined by our extended families of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kelly, one of Elisa's oldest friends and our photographer really captured the relaxed atmosphere.  The day went exactly as we had planned.  Intimate, chilled and fun.

And the best thing, being as trendy as we are we went for cupcakes instead of a formal cake - half of which were sugar free so Mark could actualy eat them.  (Well the second best thing, being married being the best!).

Then it was off to the Inn at Little Washington, which is about two hours west of DC in the Shenandoah foothills, in a stretch limo.

We hope you enjoy the photos to the right of these posts.

Our Wedding

With many thanks to our families who had travelled from Madrid, London and Connecticutt through snow and ice; our wedding was a phenomenal day.  We began with a photo call at of our building, and included Mugsy as - at least in her mind - she is the lynchpin of our family.

We then headed off to the Court House where the people could not have been nicer.  Once everyone had arrived, including the two of Elisa's siblings who live in the US the ceremony began.
While simple, it was really nice and fun when the officiant had to say "By the power invested in me by the Congress of the United States", DC is for those who are not familiar with it a Federal Territory and ultimately under the control of the US Congress.
We asked our Mothers to be our witnesses and then everyone else to sign that that they had been with us.  Then it was off in a a cab to the Cork Tasting Room, which is owned by our good friends Diane and Khalid.

We're Married !

We are pleased to announce that after 2 years together, we married on December 28, 2010 - on the anniversary of meeting.  It was a very small wedding, with only immediate family attending.  The knot was tied at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and followed by a wonderful brunch at the Cork Tasting Rooms.
